With coaxial and optical inputs, it allows direct connections to digital devices alongside three studio-grade RCA inputs, including a moving magnet (MM) phono input for turntables, ensuring exceptional analogue connectivity. Additionally, Bluetooth compatibility enables wireless music streaming from smart devices in aptX and AAC codecs.
Employing a Class-AB power amplifier design, the 778x houses a robust 200VA toroidal transformer for powerful sound delivery. Its outstanding preamp section optimises music, and the high-resolution onboard DAC enhances digital audio using the ES9018K2M chipset, supporting a sampling rate of up to 384kHz (PCM) and DSD256. The unit's rotary controls facilitate easy volume adjustments and source selection, complemented by illuminating LEDs indicating current settings.
